Herbert E Winn

Herbert E. Winn, 90, of Blackstone, VA passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce R. Winn. Herbert is survived by many devoted nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

He was a lifelong educator with Sussex County Public Schools. Herbert was a former member of the Board of Directors of Southside Electric Cooperative and life member of Landowners Hunt Club. He loved playing golf, hunting, and fishing. Herbert was extremely fond of sports and was a tremendous fan of UVA “Wahoo” athletics.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Blackstone, VA 23824, with graveside funeral services following at 2:30PM in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nottoway County Emergency Squad, P O Box 453, Crewe, VA 23930 or Rocky Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Sarah Hudgins, 3845 Green Hill Road, Blackstone, VA 23824.
