Yogi Fountain

Yogi Fountain was born May 28, 1946, and died on Monday, September 9, 2024. Born to Marvin C. and Nellie Elgin Fountain in Calhoun Falls, SC. He lived his early life in Anderson, SC., then volunteered for the draft to serve in Vietnam. After service, he married Dale Carter of Rawlings, VA. Their marriage of 56 years gave them two daughters, Trisha Fountain and Sherry Evans (Kevin) and a son, Frankie Fountain (Kim); eight grandchildren, Chase, Cait, Chloe, Courtney, Hudson, Samantha Reilly and Robyn; four great grandchildren, Hailey, Ryan, Trevor and Abel. Yogi is also survived by a sister, Selma Whitfield (Sammy) and a brother, Will Fountain.  In 1971, he found his dream job, trimming trees throughout the states.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dinwiddie Moose Lodge 1993, 7212 Boydton Plank Rd., Dinwiddie, VA 23803.  Services will be private and be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by the Blackstone Chapel of Joseph McMillian Funeral Homes. www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com
