William R. "Bill" Pomfrey,62, of Blackstone, VA and native of Charles City Co., departed this life and passed into eternal peace on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007.
He was a respected gentleman in the community and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Happel Pomfrey; a daughter, Kandi Pomfrey; a son, Christopher and his wife, Carol Lynn Pomfrey; four grandchildren, Blair Hodge, Andrew, Sarah and Hunter Pomfrey, all of Blackstone; five brothers, Jack, Gary and Pem, all of Richmond, Mike of GA, and Tom Marshall of NY; and a sister, Sharon Dillingham of Montpelier.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M., Thursday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Bus. Hwy. 460, Blackstone, VA and also where a memorial celebration of his life will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, Dec. 7, 2007. Rev. Michael E. Ruppert officiating.
