William Alvin “Al” Cox, Sr., 77, of DeWitt, VA, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Mae Cox; sons, William Alvin “Billy” Cox, Jr. (Andrea) and William “Allen” Cox (Venus); daughter, Stephanie Jean Carter (Justin); 12 grandchildren, Destiny, Adam, Jeremy, Melody, Kenneth, Josh, Michael, Holly, Colin, Kenneth, Dylan and Autum; twin great granddaughters, Billie and Bailee; two sisters, Peggy Morris, Ruby Lara (Juan); a brother, Donnie Cox (Floryfe); numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Al was a wild one with a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed and always treasured.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Blackstone Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824, followed by a graveside funeral service at 2:00 P.M. in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone. www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com
