Wanda Jean Williams

Wanda Jean Buckles Williams, of Amelia Courthouse, VA, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, one day after celebrating her 85th birthday.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Williams; her parents, Lucille Sykes Buckles and John Astor Buckles; a son, Cameron Carter; her brothers, Duane Buckles and Willie Buckles.  Wanda is survived by her son, Troy Carter (Cathy) of Amelia Courthouse, VA; and a granddaughter, Summer Carter.  She is also survived by a daughter, Betty Smoot (Rodney) of Parksley, VA; and a granddaughter, Natasha Smoot. 

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M., Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA  23824. www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com. A graveside funeral will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 in the Buckles Family Cemetery, 300 Northwood Drive, Lebanon, VA  24266.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at https://www.parkinson.org.
