Thomas Allen “Tommy” Cromer, 67, of Crewe, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Cromer; two daughters, Mandy Wallace of Kenbridge and Jessie Cromer of Crewe; six grandchildren, Chase Abernathy, Brooklyn Guill, Arleigh Jones, Makenna Wallace, Brayden and Cayden Thompson; and his mother-in-law, Brenda Staylor of Crewe. Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Kathryn Cromer.
He was a retired firefighter with 31 years of service for the Chesterfield Fire Department. Tommy touched many people through his compassion and his talent for mentoring others. Although he loved his career, his family was first and foremost in everything he did. His top priority was making sure Sharon, and his girls were taken care of. Tommy lived his life to the fullest until his recent illness. He had a strong faith and trust in God and knew this was all part of the Lord’s plan.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at the Blackstone Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at the Burkeville Baptist Church, 222 S. Agnew St., Burkeville, VA 23922. Burial will follow in the Crewe Cemetery.
