Steve D. Ferguson, 56, of Blackstone, VA passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jane B. Ferguson; two children, Stephen Matthew Ferguson and Megan Elizabeth Ferguson, both of Richmond; his father, Howard Ferguson of Farmville; sister, Jackie F. Reid (Bill) of Blackstone. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Iris Ferguson.
He was The County Planner of Nottoway County, VA., former General Manager of Larrys Chevrolet of Blackstone, owner and operator of the former Economy Supermarket of Blackstone, and was a past Sales Representative for Armour Dial in Baltimore, MD. He was a 1977 graduate of the University of Richmond with a degree in Business. Steve served his church as Elder and Deacon and was a member of the Gideons. He was devoted to his family and was passionate about helping the people in his community.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Friday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd. (Bus. Hwy 460) near Blackstone. Memorial services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the Blackstone Presbyterian Church, 301 Church St., Blackstone. Interment is private and will take place in Westview Cemetery in Farmville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blackstone Presbyterian Church.
