Spencer Bell Wallace

Spencer Bell Wallace, age 84, of Blackstone, VA “Darvills Mayor”, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023. He was a well-known tobacco farmer and owner of Spencer Wallace Farms. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Neely Wallace; four children, Spencer B. “Skip” Wallace, Jr. (Robin) of Elkton, VA, Monta Kaye Worley “Jimmy” of Disputanta, VA, Deborah Wallace-Bullard (Tim) of Fishersville, VA, and Thomas William Wallace (Christina) of Darvills, VA. Spencer is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Collin Wallace (Hannah Pulley) ,Braeden Wallace (Adelyn), Thomas Worley (Sabrina), Taylor Widener (Randy), Montana Bullard, Bailey Wallace (Chelsea), Kole Wallace (Katie), Clayton Wallace (Ivey) and Mathew Dagles; four great grandchildren, OTW…Lainey Belle Widener, Evelyn Wheeler, Jayden Patterson and Haydon Wallace; a sister, Brenda Ellingsworth of Newport News, VA; sisters-in laws, Ercelle, Joyce, June, Nancy and Mary; his multitude of friends to especially include, Gordon Barnes and Phyllis Gauldin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Josie and Bob Wallace; five brothers, Robert, Clifton, Freeman, Harold and Carlton Wallace.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 P.M., Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Blackstone, VA 23824. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at Sharon Baptist Church, 4111 Darvills Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
