Shirley Snead Carter

Shirley Snead Carter, 88, of Crewe, Va, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter “Buddy” Carter, Jr. Shirley is survived by two daughters, Ann Casavant of Richmond, VA, and Debra Bowry (John) of Nottoway, VA; four step-children, David Carter (Ginger), Peggy Booth, Cindy Jenette and Steve Carter (Judi); 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren, brother, Robert Snead (Betty). She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at Fort Picket and retired after 18 years. Shirley enjoyed crocheting and researching family ancestry.

Graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 2:00 P.M., Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newsby Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heritage Hall Nursing Home for their care and kindness shown and the unwavering compassion and excellent care during her stay.
