Sara Grace Stafford

Sara Grace Dunn Stafford, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025.  She was born on January 21, 1933 in Wheeling, WV and was the daughter of Elda McDougan Dunn and Herman Frederick “Pops” Dunn.  Sara was one of nine children and she outlived them all.

She was married for 51 years to Thomas W. Stafford, Jr., who passed in 2003.  She is survived by her son Scott Thomas Stafford and his wife Lois of Jetersville, VA and her son Shawn Delaney Stafford and his wife Hildreth of Decatur, GA and her granddaughters Sarah Grace Stafford of Atlanta, GA and Olivia Delaney Stafford of Nashville, TN.

Sara was an active member of the Crewe United Methodist Church and the Crewe Garden Club for over 50 years and made many a flower arrangement for the church.  She was well known for the great pies she baked and the crafts she created.  She won many blue ribbons in the annual Christmas house decoration contests in Crewe.

Sara always attended each of her son’s games and sporting events while they were in school and doted on her granddaughters.  She was in several bridge clubs over the years and was able to live independently for over 92 years.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, October 12th, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home in Crewe.  Graveside services will be on Monday, October 13th, at 11:00 am at the Crewe Cemetery.
