Rosemary Westfall Burnette

Rosemary Westfall Burnette, age 77, of Blackstone, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025. She was a retired LPN and worked for over 38 years at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Burkeville. Rosemary was a longtime member of the Blackstone Assembly of God (now, New Life Assembly of God). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, family and friend to many, especially a special friend, Vicki Hibshman.  Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Elizabeth Westfall and nephew, Christopher Westfall.  She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Larry Wayne Burnette; daughter, Renee Burnette of Chase City; brother, Ralph Westfall (Amy) of Blackstone; aunt, Rachel Hudson Jeter Johnson of Blackstone; and granddaughter, Natasha Burnette of Chase City. 

The family will receive friends from 3 P.M. Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Blackstone Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA  23824, followed by a procession for a graveside service in Lakeview Cemetery, 8th St. and College Ave., Blackstone.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.  www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com
