Robert Lowry "Pete" Norton

Robert L. "Pete" Norton, 70, of Crewe, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010.

He was the former Owner/Operator of Norton's Grocery in Crewe and was presently employed as a Clerk for Walmart in Blackstone.

Pete is survived by his wife of 44 years, Eula R.; daughter, Lisa and her husband, Michael Pugh; four grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, Hannah and Carson Pugh, all of South Hill, VA; two sisters, Shirley Strawser and husband, Don, and Carolyn Williams and her husband, Joe, all of Crewe; brother, Jerry Norton of Burkeville; special family member, Gladys Cale of Crewe; and many adoring nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is predeceased by his parents, Jim and Becky Norton; brothers, Manuel, John J. "Punk", Edgar "Shorty" and Henry "Dukie" Norton; and sisters, Josephine McLean and Dot Hass.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M., Tuesday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., (Bus. Hwy. 460), near Blackstone. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Crewe Christian Church with burial to follow in Crewe Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crewe Christian Church, 100 W. Maryland Ave., Crewe, VA 23930.
