Robert Kenneth Nelson

Robert Kenneth “Bob” Nelson, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Ford, VA, on Sunday, September 14, 2025. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bob was a retired truck driver for J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. with 36 years of service.  He was a devout Christian and loving husband. Bob enjoyed life with his family and everything he did with a smile.  Bob is survived by his wife, Catherine Isabelle Nelson; daughter, Bobbie Almariento (Ovie) of Chesapeake, VA; grandson, Larry Almariento of Chesapeake, VA; stepdaughter, Jessica Yvonne Osterbind of Ford, VA; nieces, Deborah Ball and Nancy Richter (Tom) of Tennessee; nephews, Darryl Ball (Alene) and David Ball (Beth) of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Rita Isabelle of Ford, VA; sisters-in-laws, Debbie Brandl (Andy) of Ford, VA and Cindy Pritchard (Tommy) of Chesapeake, VA and a very close friend, Crystal Bishop (and the late, Francis).

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Blackstone Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA  23824.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with burial and military honors to follow in Corinth Community Church Cemetery, 8721 Cox Rd., Ford, VA  23850.  www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com
