Robert Irving

Robert Bob Irving, HT1, US Navy (Ret.), 60, of Dundas, Virginia, set sail on his heavenly voyage, on Saturday, August 16, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Lewis Irving; his children, Anthony LeMay (Bonnie), Janell Barrett (Ben), Peter LeMay, Kristina Irving, and Gilbert LeMay (Lynsey); and his granddaughters, Aurora Feagan and Nora LeMay.

Bob also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Helen Ducet, Doreen Street (George), Mary Cooper (John); his brother, Raymond Fish (Diana); and sister-in-law, Sue Fish. He is preceded in death by a brother, Jack Fish.

He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Hull Maintenance Technician First Class in 1990 and worked locally for the Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Store in Blackstone.

Bob was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church, 82 Macedonia Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824, where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, August 20, 2008, with the Reverend Carol P. Mann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the U.S. Navy providing full military funeral honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, Business Hwy. 460, 1826 Cox Rd., near Blackstone.
