Neva Ann Williams Doughty, 81, of Petersburg, VA, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James M. Doughty, Jr. and her daughter, Patricia Rose Kerley.
Neva is survived by her two children, Peggy D. Layton of Petersburg and Jay Doughty (Dee) of Prince George, VA; two step children, Nadine Poole of North Carolina and Jimmie Doughty of Kentucky. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Craig Layton (Ruth), Kenneth Layton (Shannon), Tracy Gunn (Aaron), Bradley Doughty and Kelly Doughty; four step grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, a special brother-in-law, Pete Doughty (Gloria) of Dinwiddie, VA, and special friend, Betty Gynac of Quinton, VA, who retired with her from The Park 500 Division of Philip Morris Tobacco Co.
She was a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Neva was a kindhearted lady and friend to all who knew her, never being judgemental, and loved to have fun and give hugs.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd. (Bus. Hwy. 460)near Blackstone, VA. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial services will take place at 2:30 P.M., at Southlawn Memorial Park in Petersburg.
