Nancy Elizabeth Simmons Duncanson, age 96, formerly of Blackstone, passed away August 13, 2026.
She was born on February 8, 1930 in Christiansburg, VA to Oris G. and Tressie R. Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otis Durby Duncanson, Jr., a son Gregory Allen Duncanson, and a longtime friend and “love” Jimmie C. Francisco, Jr.
She is survived by her two children O.D. Duncanson, III (Gail), Nancy D. Moody (Byron), a daughter-in-law Sondra C. Duncanson (Clyde), and her five grandchildren Carl Wilson, Jr. (Ashley), Erin Duncanson, Durby Wilson (Hailey), Reid Duncanson (Chasidy), and Sally Palmore (Austin), three great-grandchildren (Carly, Kenzie, and Lilly), and her niece Julia B. Taylor (Ben).
The family is most grateful to Petersburg Home for Ladies for the outstanding care Nancy received since November 2023. She flourished at PHL, thanks to the wonderful staff and lively community found there. A special thank you to At Home Care Hospice for the extra care Nancy received during her final months there.
