Michael James Hurley, Sr.

Michael James Hurley, Sr., age 72, of Blackstone, VA, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was a retired IT Specialist with the Germanna Community College and a devoted New York Jets fan. Michael was a well-known musician and performed with numerous bands to include: Shadows-M and Union Pacific Band. He wrote multiple songs, played drums, keyboard and sang. Music was a huge part of his life. Michael is survived by his children, Michael J. Hurley II (Chelsey), Matthew J. Hurley (Samira), Scott J. Hurley (Ashley), and Angie T. Anderson (Chris); six grandchildren, Gracie, Amira, Aidan, Nora, Hudson and Sam. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Norman L. Hurley; two brothers, Norman and Bernard Hurley; and sister, Carol Allen.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M., Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824. Funeral services will be private.
