Maud Nettles Malbone

Maud Nettles Malbone, 85, of Blackstone, VA, passed away at home with her loving family by her side.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years, MGYSGT Roger J. Malbone, USMC (RET).  Maud is the daughter of the late Beulah Sarah and Harvey Riddick Nettles of Ruffin, S.C. and also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Nettles.  She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Priester (Alvertis) and Mildred Whidden (Louie) both of Walterboro, S.C.; four sisters’-in-law; and three brothers’-in-law, and her companion, Rex.  Maud worked in a dress factory in S.C. for many years.  She had many hobbies including sewing, gardening, cooking, Grange activities, and square dancing.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M., Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA  23824.  Chapel funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 A.M., Tuesday, March 31, 2026.  Interment to follow in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make memorial donations to your favorite charity in Maud’s name.   www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com
