Mary Beth Bennett Hawkes, 91, of Wilsons, VA, formerly of Church Road, VA, died Monday morning, November 15, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Marion Bennett, her husband, John Archer Hawkes, a son, John Robert Hawkes, a brother George Bennett, and a sister, Beatrice Wilkinson.
Mrs. Hawkes is survived by two daughters, Julia Hawkes Springston (William) of Wilsons and Peggy Hawkes Benson (John) of Fredericksburg, Texas, a son, Thomas Archer Hawkes of Colonial Heights, a sister, Dorothy Fallen of Ford, grandchildren, Marvin Springston, John Ray Springston, Karen Springston Titmus, all of Wilsons, Dee Hawkes Reed, Celeste Hawkes Potts, Todd Hawkes, all of Church Road, Amy Benson Collette of Ashland, MO, Lisa Benson of Washington, D.C., and Angie Hawkes Schuler of Midlothian, 19 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She also was very fond of her two daughters-in-law, Betty Hawkes Davis and Patricia Hawkes Brown. Since 2000 Mrs. Hawkes has made her home in Wilsons with her daughter Judy and son-in-law William Springston.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends at her daughter and son-in-laws home at 9210 Wilson Road, Wilsons, on Wednesday, November 17, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
