Martha Edmonds Reekes

Martha Edmonds Reekes, 69, of Blackstone, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2009. She was the widow of Stanley G. Doc Reekes, Sr.

Martha is survived by two sons, Stanley G. Reekes, Jr. and his wife, Tamra, and Brian Keith Tater Reekes and his wife, Kim; four grandchildren, Andrea, Katie, Willie and Cameron Reekes; a great grandson, Daniel Thomas Shell, all of Blackstone; four sisters, Vergie Brooks, Irene Mayton, Shirley Grady (Jimmy), and Edith Thompson; and a brother, Bernard Edmonds (Gertrude).

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., (Bus. Hwy. 460), near Blackstone. Chapel funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
