Margaret Davis Obituary

Margaret was a fun loving, kind and caring, ridiculously funny woman who enjoyed gardening and fishing, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.  Margaret Louise Etheridge Davis left us to live with the Lord on March 12, 2025, 6:30AM sharp. She was born January 22, 1926, in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. She was 99 years young! Sorry to say her old friends couldn’t make it today because she outlived them all.

Margaret was married twice, had 5 children, Lou, Wayne, Willie, Amelia & Diana. Parents were Percy Mac Etheridge & Bessie Lena Coley Etheridge. (Decreased). Three brothers, Percy, Bud (Emerson) & Willie (All Deceased) as well as two sisters, Sis (Bessie) (Deceased) & Dean (Survived). To many Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren to even try to count. You know who you are, and finally two Great-Great Grandchildren; all she loved dearly.

Later in life three of her grandchildren were around due to location & life. Tonya, Bo & Wendy loved her and did what they could for her. Her daughters Lou & Diana & granddaughter Tonya truly helped her manage the last 8 years of her life when she developed dementia.

Now a few words from my Mother:

Always find something to laugh about! Laughter is Gods way of healing us. Don’t be depressed because I am no longer on earth as I am everywhere you look. Remember, do your best, follow your heart, love deeply, and make something amazing out of your life.  Oh, and never stop smiling.

You can look for me in the evening sunset or with the earliest spring daffodils or amongst the fluttering butterflies.  I’ll always be there in one form or another.

Please don’t cry because I’m gone; instead, be happy that I was here.  (Well maybe you can cry a little bit.  After all, I have passed away).

Remember; Today I am happy, thinking of all the times I took the grandkids crabbing and fishing! All the card games I played with friends, baseball games I played in the yard with my children and neighbors, kitchen haircuts I gave and the many times I did my best to help others. All jokes aside, I am with my Lord so Read your Bible, do as God would do, treat people with love and kindness. And remember It’s how we will meet again. Until then……

“Love you forever.”
