Lucille Strum Phillips, age 90, of Crewe, Va. went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2009. She is the widow of Roy F. Phillips. Lucille is survived by four nieces, Jean Staylor of Crewe, Linda Slayton of Midlothian, Susan Carter of Mechanicsville, and Cathy Canfield of Glen Allen; one nephew Bobbie Strum of Midlothian; special great nieces, Deborah Carson of Appomattox and Marie Andrews of Keysville, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lucille was the Nottoway County High School cafeteria manager for 41 years and a member of Pryor Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Pryor Memorial Presbyterian Church where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2009. Burial will follow in Wards Chapel Cemetery. Special thank you to her caregivers, Kathy Bowden and Josephine Campbell.
