Lorenzo Jones Obituary

Lorenzo was the youngest child and only son born to Lucille Lee Jones and Thomas Jones on July 4, 1951.  He was born in Lunenburg County, Virginia, but was raised in Nottoway County. He succumbed on February 26, 2026, at The Woodland Rehabilitation and departed this earthly life at Central Southside Hospital in Farmville, Virginia.

At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mount Zion RZUA Church in Blackstone, Virginia.  He attended Luther H. Foster High School from grades 8-11 and later attained a GED.

Lorenzo held various jobs throughout his lifetime: Fort Pickett, Craddock-Terry Shoe Company, Winn Furniture, and Economy Market. His most rewarding job was working at Kenbridge Construction Company, as a Labor foreman, from which he retired on disability in 1993.  Lorenzo was always a very hard worker, sometimes working at part time jobs after coming home from his full-time job.  Even after he retired, he still kept himself busy doing yard work, cutting grass, planting and caring for of his vegetable and flower gardens.

He married the love of his life, Linda Oliver, on June 19, 1982. More than just a husband, he was her everything- a true soulmate, a best friend, and a loving and devoted partner. He was her most dedicated supporter who lived to make her happy.

Lorenzo was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Lucille Lee Jones Reavis; sisters, Rosalee Williams, Virginia Thomas and Mary Blackwell.

Lorenzo leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Linda Oliver Jones; his children, Brittany Jones McKoy (Benny) of Raleigh, NC. and Shaheen Dailey of Blackstone, VA;  his sister, Ann Clover of Petersburg, VA; four grandchildren,  BriAna McKoy ”the apple of his eye”, Shevonne Rouse, Felicia Woodley, Davion Woodley and five great-grandchildren; Camden, Giovanni, Aiden, Kamori, and Jeremiah; two special nieces; Sharon and Taylor Harris; two special nephews, Leodiac Thomas, Jr. and Ernest Williams, Jr., sisters-in-law, Angelyn Oliver Hawkes (Kenneth), Evelyn Oliver Coleman; brothers-in-law, Winston Oliver (Angela), Charles Oliver III (Robin), Ernest Williams, Sr; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
