Mrs. Lillian Barnes Parks, 82, of Blackstone, died Sunday, September 16, 2007. She was a retired bookkeeper for Hammock & Rand Motor Company and the widow of Mr. James T. Parks, Jr. Lillian is survived by two son, James Thomas Parks III and wife, Sue, of Kenbridge; and Claude Barnes Parks and wife, Kathy, of Blackstone; a sister, Lois Ann Payne of Blackstone; a brother, Claude Littleton Barnes, Jr. of Lunenburg; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Blackstone from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 18. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, September 19 in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Thomas Palliative Care Unit, VCU-Massey Cancer Center, P.O. Box 980214, Richmond, VA 23298-0214.
