Leonard Melvin Hipkins

Leonard Melvin Hipkins, 81, of Victoria, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.    Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Hammons and Leonard Hipkins; a sister, Peggy Jean Hipkins Crisco and brother, Donnie Hipkins. He is survived by his wife, Alice Fay Hipkins; a daughter, Margie Hipkins Brown (Steve L. Brown, Dec’d) of Sandston; a son, Melvin Lee Hipkins of Crewe; two grandchildren, Joshua Hipkins (April Bartoe Hipkins) of Green Bay, VA, and Jamie Connor Brown of Sandston; three great grandchildren, Lillyann, Samuel, and Lauren Hipkins; several nieces and nephews to include a special niece, Elizabeth Ann Hipkins.  Melvin is also survived by his two brothers, Lucky and Marvin “Pumpkin” Hipkins; and stepdaughter, Alice Cullotco.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M., Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Blackstone Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA  23824.  Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Chapel with burial to follow in Crewe Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Central Baptist Church, 57 Merryman Dr., Victoria, VA  23974, in Melvin’s memory.  www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com
