Lee Cassell Obituary
Lee Edward “Ed” Cassell, 86, of Crewe, Virginia, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. He is now with Jesus and reunited with the loved ones who went before him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Madison and Prince Anna “Boots” Cassell; his sister, Ann Holmes; and his brother, Ricky Cassell.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Lela Delores Smythers Cassell; and their three daughters, Gwen Redfern (James), Kim Redford (Todd), and Jennifer Jackson (Michael). He also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren—Amanda Willett (James), Carter Redford, Faith Jackson, Madison Redfern, and Michelle Jackson—and one great-granddaughter, Grace Willett.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Ed served his country with honor. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Blackstone Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home.
