Laura Elder Wray, age 95, of Ford, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at her home. She was the widow of Gilbert Wray.
Surviving are two sons, Ronnie and Michael Wray; daughters-in-law; Donna, Ellen, and Doris; four grandchildren; Jason, Matt, Shannon, and Shawn Wray; five great-grandchildren; Brianna, Casey, Kayla, Matthew, Jr., and Walker Wray; six nieces; Catherine, Cheryl, Helen Carol, Joyce, Lacy, and Linda; three nephews; Pete, Jr., Wallace Earl, and Wynn; one goddaughter, Sherry.
Mrs. Wray was a devout member of Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church, and worked for many years serving wonderful meals to the local children of Midway High School, which is now an elementary school. She leaves behind many funny and fond memories to cherish for her loving family and many friends.
The family will receive friends at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Bus. Hwy. 460, near Blackstone, from 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, October 2.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. , Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church, 7816 White Oak Road, Ford, Virginia. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
