June Simpson

June Simpson, age 73, of Blackstone, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clarence Simpson; two sons, Al Simpson and his wife, Donna; Leonard Simpson and his friend, Debby, all of Crewe; a sister, Louise Hunter and her husband, Mike, of Oregon; a brother, Sonny Yates and his wife, Betty, of Colonial Heights, and his daughter, Bonnie; four grandchildren, Boo Simpson and his wife, Sarah, Brandi Hayer and her husband, Matt, Lee Simpson and Ashley Simpson; five great-grandchildren, Jason, Eric, and Parker Simpson; Raye and Connor Green.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Pomeroy; grandson, Timmy Simpson; and sisters, Frances, Dorothy, and Betty Jean. Junes greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and children. She lived her life as God directed and her faith remained strong.

The family will receive friends at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Bus. Hwy. 460, near Blackstone, from 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, September 11, 2009. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, September 12, at the Blackstone Presbyterian Church, 301 Church Street, Blackstone, VA 23824. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone.
