Joseph J. Obradovic, 94, of Blackstone VA, died Sunday, October 14, 2007. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Julia Obradovic. Joe was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He owned the family business, Obradovic's Tavern and later settling in Blackstone, Virginia, opened and operated the Sears and Roebuck Store. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; five children, Pamela Stewart of Newport News, VA, Kim Brewer and her husband, Dennis of Sutherland, VA, Major Michael Obradovic of Denver, Colorado, Patti Hayes and her husband, Billy of Adrian, Michigan, and Patrick Obradovic and his wife, Tracy of Powhatan; his four grandchildren, Jessica Brewer, Cole Hayes, Drazen and Declan Obradovic; a brother, George Obradovic of Chicago, Illinois; and his sister, Dorothy Cole of Westchester, Illinois. Memorial services will be held at 7 P.M., Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007 at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Bus. Hwy. 460 in Blackstone. Reverend
G. C. Shepherd will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Resident Fund, c/o Heritage Hall Nursing Home, 900 South Main Street, Blackstone, VA 23824.
