Joseph Meador Flowers

Joseph Meador Flowers, 87, of Crewe, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024.  He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Diane Shelton Flowers and children, Rusty Davis (Lori), Bill Davis; his former wife, Kayhill Flowers and children, Patti McCann (Tom), Joseph “Joebo” Flowers, Jr. (Denise), Steve Flowers (DeAna), Susan Arthur (Jamie), and Tom Flowers; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Oliva (Buster).  Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. Flowers and Alberta Hudgins Freeman; and his brother, Ronald A. Flowers. 

Joe loved his family and friends. He is and will always be remembered as “one of a kind” and “a living legend”.  Joe was an outstanding trainer of hunting dogs and an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, especially turkey and all types of birds. He was generous and known to share the harvest with those less fortunate. Joe’s family wishes to thank all the farmers and landowners who permitted him to hunt their properties over the years.   

The family also wishes to thank the friends that have helped them along Joe’s final journey.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nottoway Co.
