Joanne Foster Paulett, 65, of Blackstone, VA, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Wayne “Baby” Paulett; two sons, Wayne L. “Buck” Paulett, Jr. (Amanda), Robert M. “Boo-Boo” Paulett (Brandi); four grandchildren, Justin R. Paulett, Makenzie N. Paulett, Hunter W. Paulett and Landon C. Paulett, all of Blackstone; her mother, Margaret A. Foster of Victoria; two sisters, Donna Blalock (Chris) of Boydton and Lisa Tanner (Rusty) of LaCrosse; and a brother, Ricky Foster (Gina) of Powhatan. Joanne is preceded in death by her father, Donald W. Foster.
She was a former owner and storekeeper of Spainville Store and was more recently a cook for Farmers Café of Blackstone. Joanne loved her family and especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was an awesome cook, known for her “famous” potato salad and was a very hard worker. She was dedicated to serving others, never meeting a stranger, and giving with a heart of gold.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025 from 6 to 8 P.M., at the Blackstone Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Homes, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at the funeral home with the burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone.
