Jerry Dennis Montgomery was born on December 15, 1945, and passed away peacefully at his home on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was born and raised in Micro, North Carolina, the son of Tom and Margaret Montgomery. He is survived by Linda, his loving wife of sixty-one years. Additional survivors include their children, son Gary Montgomery (Tammy, deceased) and daughter, Tammy Lipscomb (Terry). He was known as Pops to his grandchildren, Austin Montgomery (Taylor) and their daughter Isla, Hunter Montgomery and his fiancé, London. He is also survived by his brothers, Benny Montgomery (Jane) and Jeff Montgomery (Teena).
Jerry retired from Dupont having worked there for over 40 years as a supervisor. He was known for his fairness as well as his integrity and work ethic.
Jerry lived by faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a faithful servant of God, having served as a deacon and in various other roles in the church. He had a loving church family at Parkway Church North Chesterfield.
The service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Christ Family Outreach Church at 2:00 PM, with interment following the service in the family burial plot located behind the church. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Parkway Church North Chesterfield, 9700 Castleburg Dr., North Chesterfield, VA 23236 or to the building fund of Christ Family Outreach Church, 12300 Five Forks Rd., Amelia, VA 23002. Arrangements are by the Blackstone Chapel of Joseph McMillian Funeral Homes.
The family appreciates the great outpouring of love that they have received. Jerry requested “It Is Well With My Soul” to be sung at his service. This hymn expresses a sense of peace gained by faith in God’s goodness and faithfulness. Jerry knew and experienced the unwavering presence of God.
