Jack Rogers Atkinson, Jr.

J.R. Atkinson, Jr., age 52, of Blackstone, Virginia, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007. He was a self-employed painting contractor for many years. J.R. is survived by his son, Charlie Atkinson and his wife, Amanda of Blackstone; his parents, Lula Mae and Jack Atkinson of Burkeville; a granddaughter, Hailey Atkinson of Blackstone; two sisters, Sharon Hollomon of Blackstone and Amy Williams and her husband, Russell of Dinwiddie; stepdaughter, Pam Finch of McKenney; stepson, Todd Atkinson of Crewe; and six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Atkinson. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Hwy Bus. 460, in Blackstone, and also where chapel funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 27 at 11:00 A.M.
