Harold David Hood

Harold David Hood of Roanoke, VA., formerly of South Hill, VA, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1929, and is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rebecca P. Hood, son’s Alan (Nancy) and Brian (Rebecca), granddaughters, Jacqui (Nolan) and Ashlee (Aaron) and great granddaughter Anna. He is also survived by his brother, Wallace (Martha) and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents, David and Mae Hood, sister Francis Edmunds and brothers, Bob and Gene.

Harold was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War, stationed in Japan. He had a career in construction for over 40 years, building houses and numerous items for family and friends. He was an avid sportsman and loved to play golf. The family will receive friends from 11-12:30 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Blackstone Chapel of the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824 followed by a procession to depart directly afterward for burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone.
