Hanie Davis Sheeler

Hanie Davis Sheeler,age 94, of Farmville, VA, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Hickory Hill Retirement Community of Burkeville.

She is the widow of James Lowry Sheeler, and was a retired Registered Nurse of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a member of the Farmville Presbyterian Church for over 30 years and actively participated in the Longwood College Arthritic Swim Class from its inception for over 10 years.

Hanie is survived by two sons, James Davis Sheeler, and his wife, Carol, of Asheville, NC; and Jay Lowry Sheeler and his wife, Bonnie, of Farmville; four grandchildren, Clark, Jarvis, Jennifer, and Jason Sheeler; five great-grandchildren, Owen, Holly, Eli, Josie, and Jayna Sheeler; one sister, Julia Davis Brown of Crewe; one sister-in-law, Sarah Marie Ufford Davis of Blackstone.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd. (Bus. Hwy 460) near Blackstone. Chapel services will be held Sunday, October 25, at 2 P.M. at the funeral home with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone.
