Gladys Kreider Bishop

Gladys Kreider Bishop, 86, of Blackstone, VA, gained her angel wings on Sunday, September 15, 2024.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Alice Kreider; sisters, Linda K. Leonard, Betty K. Lewis and Martha Kreider; and her brother, Walter Kreider.  Gladys is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Bishop; three children, Rebecca Garber (Darrell), David Bishop (Ginger) and Susan Broadwater (Steve); four grandsons, James and Aaron Garber, William and Jason Bishop; and six great grandchildren, Thomas and Wyatt Bishop; Colt, Amelia, Samuel and Lily Garber. 

She was a retired seamstress and worked for Levi’s, Crewe Garment Factory and Bon Worth.  Gladys enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the New Bethel Community Church, 4950 Cellar Creek Rd., Blackstone, VA  23824.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2 P.M. in the church.  Please dress casual. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone.  Arrangements are by the Blackstone Chapel of Joseph McMillian Funeral Homes.
