George William Wingo, 54, of Amelia, VA, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010.
He was a lifelong member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church and a 1976 graduate of Amelia County High School. George was a self-employed farmer and painter. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. George was a devoted family man, loving and awesome husband, father, grandfather and Pats best friend. He was predeceased by his father, Clyde W. Wingo.
George is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia A. Wingo; three children, George A. Wingo, Victoria L. Schneider (James), Danny Moore and a grandson, Zachary P. Schneider. He is also survived by his mother, Hazel P. Wingo; two brothers, Carter W. Wingo and Alan J. Wingo; and a sister, Debra C. Fleming; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 P.M., Monday, at Sandy Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Tuesday, December 7, 2010, in the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
