Geneva Mae Newman Allison

Geneva Newman Allison, 84, of Blackstone, VA passed away Friday, May 6 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Mae Smithers Newman of Carroll County, VA.

Geneva is survived by her three sons, William B. (Chris Ann), Drayton L. (Suzy) and James F. Allison; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Throughout her life, she celebrated a love of learning, was an avid reader, and was a teacher in all facets of life. Geneva was devoted to her church family as a member of Blackstone Presbyterian Church and held her circle close to her heart.

The family will receive friends from 6 8 PM, Monday at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox RD (Bus. Hwy. 460) near Blackstone. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, May 10 2011 at Blackstone Presbyterian Church, 301 Church St. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blackstone Presbyterian Church or Hospice of VA, 202 Clark St., Farmville, VA 23901.
