Frederick "Fred" Henry Phillips

Frederick Fred Phillips, 84, of Darvills, VA, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Addie M. Phillips; sister, Helen Clack; brother, Marion Kirkland Phillips, both of Rocky Mount, NC; several nieces and nephews.

Fred was a US Army veteran of WWII and served in the Asia-Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 with Reverend Robert Rowland, officiating.

Interment with military honors will be held 2 p.m. at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA 23002.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Monday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd. (Bus Hwy) 460 near Blackstone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, Building Fund, 18725 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
