Francis Thompson Obituary
Francis M. Thompson, age 80, of Chesterfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Dixon Thompson and John Frank Thompson; his sisters, Mae T. Watson and Virginia T. Fanshaw; and his brother, William “Bill” Thompson.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth G. Thompson of Midlothian, VA; a niece, Cheryl T. Batich (Mark) of Sneedville, TN; two nephews, Frank Fanshaw of Crewe, VA and Wyatt Watson of Chesterfield, VA.
Born April 6, 1943, in Crewe, VA, he graduated from Crewe High School where he was an outstanding basketball player for his team. He worked for Dupont Manufacturing in Richmond, VA, for 30 years. After retirement, he worked part-time for Lexus of Richmond parts department. A 42-year member of the Manchester Moose Lodge #699.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 29, 2024, in the Crewe Cemetery, The Falls Road, Crewe, VA 23930. Arrangements are by Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, Blackstone, VA 23824. www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com
