Ernest Earl Barchet, 95, formerly of Richmond, VA, passed away quietly on Monday, November 23, 2009, at Hickory Hill Retirement Community in Burkeville, VA.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Beatrice Barlow Barchet, and brother, Vernon Paul Barchet.
Ernest is survived by two daughters; Frances Limerick of Hopewell, VA, and Jean Defibaugh of Amelia, VA.; four granddaughters, Tiffany, Piper, Christina, and Tiffilu; and five great-grandchildren. He was born in Annapolis, MD, September 9, 1914, and as a child attended the Buckingham School for Boys in Buckeystown, MD, where he developed his artistic abilities. Ernie was both a professional and commercial artist. He was the retired artist for the former Neighborhood Theatres, Inc., in Richmond. Many of his paintings and portraits may be found in museums and homes across the Richmond area. Ernie will be most remembered for his kind and giving spirit.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2009, at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond, VA.
