Earl L. Clevinger, 84, of Victoria, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011.
A WWII veteran, he was born in South Boston, VA, the son of Edd Clevinger and Belvie Clevinger Bane.
Earl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carrie Clevinger; children, Barbara Bridges (Howard) of Dinwiddie, Janet Fisher (E.B.) and Tina Cass (Tommy), all of Crewe, Rodney Clevinger (Cindy) of Danieltown, Tony Clevinger (Nancy) of Meherrin and Hope Clevinger of Winston-Salem, NC; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Williams of Richmond and brother, James Clevinger (Eva May) of Victoria. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Hutton.
A service with military honors will be held 3 P.M., Friday, June 24, 2011, in the chapel at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA 23002. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Crewe Emergency Squad Building, Crewe, VA.
