Earl Emmitt Chambliss, age 73, of Crewe, VA, passed away Monday, October 12, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Mayton Chambliss, a daughter, Sharlene Chambliss of Richmond, four step-children, Brenda Atkins of Crewe and Ricky Clark of Crewe, Diane Goad of Burkeville and Nancy Jenkins of Burkeville, a granddaughter, nine step-grandchildren, and 14 step great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Gospel Baptist Tabernacle, Kenbridge-Victoria Rd., Hwy 40, Kenbridge, VA 23944. The family is receiving friends at his home.
He was a retired water plant operator at Swift Creek for Chesterfield County, VA, with over 30 years of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Nottoway Co. Emergency Squad, PO Box 453, Crewe, VA 23930 or to The Resident Fund, c/o Heritage Hall Healthcare Center, 900 S. Main Street, Blackstone, VA 23824.
