Christine Conner Hardaway

Christine Conner Hardaway, age 89, of Blackstone, VA, passed away on July 5, 2026.  She was born on August 12, 1936 in Lunenburg County and was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry & Ola Francis Conner; her husband, Wallace Hardaway; son, Keith Hardaway; great grandchildren, Waverly and Karter Hardaway; brothers, Hedley Conner, Ervin Conner, Early Conner, and Howard Conner; sisters, Mattie Byrd, Alyene Neal, Hazel Williams, and Annie Reese.

She is survived by her son, Alan Hardaway (Theresa), Susan Tucker (Billy Younger). Grandchildren: Lisa Johnson, Kristin Hamner (Cliff), Jessica Hardaway (Danny Oakes), Stacy Tucker, and Preston Hardaway (Nicole).  Great Grandchildren: Austin Johnson (Sydney), Destiny Johnson, Kayleigh-Ann Clapper, Avery Hardaway, Allison Hardaway.  Great-Great Grandchildren: Chance Johnson, and River Johnson, Brother in-law, Lewis Williams and many nephews and nieces. 

She was a babysitter/caregiver for many children, neighbors and of course her family; Sunday School teacher, softball coach, bowling coach, Cub Scout, & Brownie Leader, and a very proud Nana and she loved the lord with her whole heart.  Graveside services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11 A.M. Please feel free to dress casual.
