Charles Bucket William Rogers, 72, of Blackstone, VA passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy H. Rogers; son, Charles W. Chuck Rogers of Richmond; two step children, Stephen C. Thompson (Theresa) of Stafford, VA and Carolyn Bybee (Pearce) of Winter Haven, FL; two step grandsons, Stephen Craig Thompson and Jeffery Charles Thompson both of Blacksburg, VA; brother, Thomas Adams Rogers (Norma) of Williamsburg; sister, Shirley Rogers Gibson of Richmond; two nephews, Douglas Scott Rogers and Patrick Andrew Tate, both of Richmond.
Charles was the son of the late Lawrence and Louise Adams Rogers and also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Storey Rogers.
He retired as a Conductor from the Norfolk & Southern Railroad after 37 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Charles was a member of the Dundas Baptist Church and will always be remembered for his keen sense of fun, love of nature, hunting, fishing, the beach, and his enduring love of his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Sunday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd. (Bus. Hwy 460) near Blackstone. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Monday, September 5, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery with Military Honors.
