Charles Bernard Nunnelly, Doll Baby, 84, of Blackstone, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wilmoth Nunnelly of Chase City; his parents, Charles and Devora Oliver Nunnelly; his three
brothers, Eugene Scritch, Arthur Tiny and William Nunnelly; and his two sisters, Frances Ragsdale and Bertha Abernathy.
He is survived by his children, Marsha Montovano and her late husband, Steve; Chuck and his fianc, Valerie; Susan Taylor and her husband, Cliff; and Sam and his wife, Amy; eight grandchildren, Tony, Michelle, Sarah, Nathan, Anna, Megan, Jacob, and Kathryn; great grandson, Benjamin; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Bernard served in the US Navy during WWII and later ran Nunnellys Texaco for 32 years. He was a rural mail carrier in Blackstone until he retired in 1991. He was a lifelong member of Blackstone Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd.(Bus. Hwy. 460) near Blackstone. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Blackstone Baptist Church. Interment will follow with military honors in Lakeview Cemetery.
