C. H. "Sonny" Powers, Jr.

C.H. Sonny Powers, Jr., age 73, of Darvills, Virginia, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jane Edmunds Powers; three sons, Charles T. Powers of Fredericksburg, Daniel E. Powers and his wife, Sharon, and Richard E. Powers and his wife, Jane, all of Blackstone; seven grandchildren, Lisa Comfort(Chris), Adam Powers, Jason Powers(Stephanie), Patrick Powers(Jessica), Kara Powers, Nicholas Powers and Christian Powers; three great grandchildren, Hanna, Karabeth and Hailey. Sonny is also survived by four sisters, Cecelia Edmunds(Tom), Margaret Malvin, Carole Daily, and Susan Stone(Tommy); and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, April 14, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Bus. Hwy. 460, near Blackstone and where chapel funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Burial will follow in Butterwood Methodist Church Cemetery in Darvills.
