Arkley Dillard Johnson, Jr., 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vivian Palmore Johnson, three sons, Randall Dillard Johnson (Leslie) of Woodbridge, Virginia; Christopher Palmore Johnson of Oak Island, North Carolina; and Benjamin Scott Johnson (Diane) of Knoxville, Tennessee. Also five grandsons: Michael Scott Johnson and Kevin Samuel Johnson of Roseboro, North Carolina; Corey Randall Davis of Knoxville, Tennessee; Bradford Dillard Johnson and Matthew Weirick Johnson of Woodbridge, Virginia; a granddaughter, Ashley LeAnn Davis of Rockwood, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren, Dillon Michael Johnson and Jada Fae Klein; a niece and several nephews.
He was a former Chief and the longest serving member of the Blackstone Volunteer Fire Department, a longtime member of the Crenshaw United Methodist Church, to which the family requests donations be made in Dillards memory. He was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII.
The family will receive friends from 6 8 P.M., Thursday, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home 1826 Cox Rd. (Bus.Hwy) 460 near Blackstone. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Crenshaw United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
